Hey guys, I'm really new to this forum and I don't understand the site that well yet. If this topic is in the wrong section, could a mod please move it to the appropriate section.

Ok, so basically, today I come for a favour from all of you here. Currently, I live in Canada and am in the tenth grade. I'm taking an American History Class and we were assigned a project where we have to build a model of something that would be suitable in a museum that's directly related to American history (anywhere from between the 16th to 21st century). I've always liked origami and decided that I could build an artifact using origami.

So yeah, I'm just asking for anyone if that could help me find a diagram of something related to American History (i.e Statue of liberty, apollo 11 etc.).
Anything would be appreciated, thanks!

I seem to recall a moon lander of sorts on the site origami.com.
If I find the diagrams, I'll post a link.

Sadly there isn't much. Seiji Nishikawa had a pretty rockin' space shuttle, and there are a few other shuttles around. I designed a Gatling Gun a while back, but there are no diagrams. There are also a few Statues of Liberty.

By "American History", do you mean the two continents North and South America or just the United States OF America?

Either way, the Origami Database might help you. It doesn't have everything, but it's got a lot. Problem is, it's been having server problems recently, so sometimes it's running, and sometimes it's not.

(Is it just me, or there a lot of canadian schoolchildren on this forum recently? Has anybody else noticed?)

I think Canada just got the internet recently. Apart from Vancouver, anyhow.

There is no way Lang took 7 days to fold that. I would believe it took 7 hours, but 7 days is way excessive for a model of that complexity. That dollar Statue of Liberty sounds viable-the combination of an American symbol and American currency is interesting.

I stand corrected-it just doesn't seem to me that it would take that long, depending on how much time Lang spent on it each day.

I agree... Just because I quoted it... doesn't mean that it was correct... Only Robert could could clarify.
