Hojyo Takashi's Buddha

Post by leung_wwy »

I am wondering if someone can help me. I am looking for a legal version of the Takashi seated buddha (ie Tanteidan Convention Book 6).

My grandma just passed away and she's a buddhist so I would like to make one for her.

Given the model and the reason why I want to make it, it seems completely inappropriate to make one from a pirated set of diagrams (not that I would want to use pirated diagrams normally).

I would be happy to purchase the book for a reasonable price, or to borrow on for a few weeks (I promise to take good care of the book - the only problem is that I live in Sydney, Australia, and I am guessing almost everyone on this forum lives in the northern hemisphere!)

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother; the Buddha is a nice way to honor her memory.

If you can't find the Takashi diagrams, there are other Buddhas, such as the series by Elias in Harbin's Origami 4.

If you search Amazon or Google for "isbn 0340218223" then you should find some used copies for about $5 USD plus shipping.
You might verify with the seller that 1) It is Origami 4; 2) It has a Blue Ostrich on front; 3) TOC lists Baby Grand on p. 83 .

I believe that the Buddhas start on pp. 101ff.

Thank you Hanks. I have a copy of Origami 4 already so I'll give it a go.
