Folders in Sydney/Australia

Post by ~folder~of~paper~ »

Hey, I have only met one other folder in Sydney and I'm kinda disappointed. I thought there'd be more. Please prove me wrong! I heard about an organisation around here called 'Black Belt In Origami' or something like that. If you are part of it please let me know cause the other folder smells funny.
Appreciate it! :)

I live in the Inner West of Sydney but there aren't many folders there either. One of my friends folds but he's not very hard core. Also he tends to stab people with pens so I stay clear of him.
iggy_spotter is also a Sydney folder as well.

Just a question, where do you get your paper?

I get what you mean... the folder i know is very moody all the time. He isn't hardcore too. People know him as the only origamist in school but few people know about me. SO when he says: "go away go ask him to fold it for you" people start asking me to make stuff for them

Sydney - Origami

Post by Sydney_Origamido »

Heyo,
I'm a folder from the northern beaches, not sure quite what you mean by hardcore though... maybe i'm a lil out of my league. Most recent models i've folded have been pretty much all the models out of Kamiya Satashoi's book, including Ancient Dragon, Bahamut, etc. Where does that place me in regards to you guys in terms of 'hardcore'.

Well, I can't speak for these guys, but I would definitely classify you as
"hardcore" if you have folded all those models :)

I am not from Australia, but I really hope I get the chance to go there sometime!

If you can't fold it, try a bazooka.

I'm from the North Shore, I lived on the Norther Beaches for a year, but now I live back in the North Shore.

I'd class myself as aproaching 'Hardcore'. I haven't tried any of those amazing models like the Ancient Dragon, but I'm in the middle of learning to fold from CPs. I've been designing my own fairly basic origami for a few years now and I've got Origami Design Secrets coming in on special order at my local Borders.

I get my paper from K-Mart. In the stationary section there is a product called Neon Notes, which are meant just as memo paper, but they happen to be square. They're only about $5 for a huge pack of them. They're 10x10cm and come in 5 bright colours.

You can see my recent creations on my DeviantART site, there's a link in my signature.
