OUSA Convention 2008-Invitation to post your experiences !

Post by gordigami »

The OUSA Convention starts today !
It would be great if you would be so kind as to post your experiences there, so that those unable to go, would have a feel for the nuances & details of each person's experience.
Thanks !
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .

OUSA CONVENTION 2008-Invitation to post your experiences .

I see by the class schedules, http://www.origami-usa.org/convention2008, that there are many appealing models.
I am hoping that several find their way into the convention book.
My understanding is that the book will be mailed out in Mid-July, so a bit of patience is required, unless some kind soul posts a list of highlights from the convention book.
I would imagine most folks are pretty busy with classes this weekend, tho.

most of them did not. this is with the caveat that i only glanced through the book (the ousa convention books are always a little hit or miss, imho, so i didn't get one). if you are into complex origami, the biggest find in the book is kamiya's cicada nymph.

The OUSA annuals are little talked about, but they sometimes hold a few gems. I'm glad the nymph is diagrammed, I'll have to pick up a copy. Its one of the few subjects that an open (or partially open) back could be desired, but I've yet to create a satisfactory model as such. Lets hear some stories after you con-goers catch up to the world outside =p.

To Jon:
Thank you very much for your considerate sharing of these terrific photos !
I appreciate the fact that it is very labor-intensive, and you have certainly gone the extra mile .
Many of us, throughout the world, would have loved to have gone to the convention, but for diverse reasons, could not.
You have brought the beauty and creativity of origami from New York to the world ! Much like you have already done with your own extremely skillful foldings .
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .

Thank you very much! Although I must disagree about this being so labor-intensive-all I did was take some quick pictures and upload them. I remember being annoyed last year because I didn't take pictures of all the CPs that I wanted. I am glad they are being enjoyed by other people!
