No, I haven't done any of those kinds of origami. Personally, although they are origami, those don't seem to be "true" origami to me. And they just look to time consuming for me, without any spectacular results. But I do recognize the time that has gone into them.

Never found those very interesting. There's no challenge to it-- with that unit, you can put it together pretty much however you want and it will work. It's too easy.

Also, if you look, the people that do those almost never do any other sort of origami; and there's a reason-- aside from the most rudimentary folding skills, there is very little overlap between Golden Venture Units and the conventional origami skillset. It's an interesting unit, but IMHO not worth the hours and hours that some people put into making those things.

I have to agree with the previous posts. It's Origami but not really interesting. I once made 200 modules and played with them, the are good fun for using them as a Construction-Toy like some kind of "Paper-Lego blocks".
But I can't see a lot of art in this kind of origami.

Do you mean modules (dt=Module) or models (dt=Modelle)?

Well, I like 3D origami too. I've made two swans already, I've given them away as gifts though. It's not as easy as you think, assembling some parts of the whole thing may be hard, it depends. Plus, you'll need a lot of patience to fold all the units. Which I think gets pretty hard for me considering how impatient and hasty I can be... :S

Hey, that's not true...
I make 3D origami, and I also fold other types of origami. You can't just judge everyone who does 3D origami like that.

I had a friend who did a swan once, but he doesn't do much origami. He also folded some "normal" origmi like a rat, pegasus and some more. To me it is a special kind of modular origami that requires a lot of patience and time. I personally don't like it much but it does have a lot of artistic posibilities and it would be fun to do if you had people helping

It's ok just too much modules
