false. 3.5 has 1,2k. So 2.1 wil have up to 700-800 since it has less rows

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
i've never had the patience to count
i was just reciting information someone else had given me.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
ryu zin 2.1 has exactly 512 scales (-28 which is hidden in the scales' connection in the middle of the model)
ryu zin 3.5 has exactly 1156 scales (-48 -||-)
I'm not counting half scales at the bottom and the top of the scales

Stupid and noobish question, just warning you:
Is there a difference between Ryu-Jin and Ryu-Zin, or is it just a matter of spelling the anglicization?

Hi guys!
This is my third CP (im not sure if this actually counts): Ryu-zin 3.5 Head ONLY
Can someone help me out a bit on the collapsing. In fact, I just barely finished pre creasing, and Ive only done a bit collapsing. THe parts that I need help on are the center, and the top corner where there is a chain of small squares.
Thanks!

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Have you done Robert Lang's Sea Urchin from Origami Sea Life? Because the Ryujin's head is almost exactly like the middle part of the folding sequence.
Fold the head in half and squash between all the flaps, forming perpendicular pleats. Open between two sets of them (the center ones), and pinch another Waterbomb into position. Repeat for all sets and then synthesize the Waterbombs with the other pleats.

Even the head of 3.5 is more complex than the entire 1.2. I haven't done much recently, but i'm now on holiday, so i'll get some more done, and maybe some progress pics....

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
how long does it take and could i use printer paper to make it?
Origami is like food. You can love it and be obese. Or you can hate it and be and be a"cute". Or you can be a fail and your just that. A fail. Flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/76647015@N08/?saved=1

Take a look at the crease patterns.
theoretically, yes, you could make it with printer paper. the printer paper would have to be less than 1 gsm thick, though. and don't forget that it would be almost impossible, your skill level would have to be over 9000.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
haha. i'm gonna start test folding some parts of it and make a giant sheet of sekishu paper (probably 4x4 feet, or about 1.3 meters) and i'll probably be done with it sometime next year, as i won't be working on it constantly.
