Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
It takes a YEAR?
I thought it would take like about an hour, maybe 2. Wow.

Origami is like food. You can love it and be obese. Or you can hate it and be and be a"cute". Or you can be a fail and your just that. A fail. Flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/76647015@N08/?saved=1

Oh yeah, ive not folded it, but it takes a freaking long time, definately not an hour! an hour might get you half a precreased grid, if that. and with all those scales to shape...
Matt
If it's just mountain and valley folds, how hard could it be?

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
something I found on the web on vietnam origami group forum

do you think this is it what I think this is?
maybe that's teh reason why Kamiya didn't publish anything recently, and didn't submit anything to tanteidan magazine.

not a year, approximately 100 hours, so like 4 days if you didn't sleep.bnm70 wrote:It takes a YEAR?

and holy goodness, i do believe that is the diagrams for ryujin 3.5... look on the 3rd page to the left, at the top right. that is definitely partial of the crease pattern of 3.5!Kafar wrote:something I found on the web on vietnam origami group forum

when that comes out, I am buying whatever book it goes in automaticcally. i just put 50$ aside for it.

Don't rush. It's still April 1th, may be a bad joke for april's fools
(may be a fan made diagam too)
But if it really hapens, it looks more like diagrams for 2.1 (the folded model on the top of the image is a 2.1 ruyzin)

^ that was posted on april second. not a bad joke anymore, this is for real
those don't really look like Kamiya diagrams that much, i've never seen him put arrows between steps. i'm not sure though, its been 3 years since he has really done anything...

well, I personally hope that there won't be any more information about solving 3.5 version - we have enough info how to fold it, and I think it should stay as a symbol of super complex model not for everyone - and even if diagrams would be hard to solve, they surely won't be harder than CP.
having diagrams for 2.1 version the 3.5 will become easier anyway, as they share basic structure
on the first photo we can easily see it is rather 2.1 than 3.5, second pic removes any uncertainity

I agree and disagree, although it would be convenient for diagrams for it (for collapsing) it really wouldn't be any easier. the 3.5 cp seems pretty straightforward (just time consuming as hell)
it is illegal to post the official cp, is it not?Jonybb wrote:Just a note for everyone, who didn't know: The 3.5 crease pattern someone posted recently here is not 100% accurate; the tail, leg scales, head along with other sections are incorrect or cannot be flatfolded. You'll need to buy Kamiya's newest book to get the official and correct crease pattern
Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
That's 2.1 diagram for sure. The steep 49 is forming the points for the fingers and also in the name of the image
desmond.imageshack.us/Himg526/scaled.php?server=526&filename=ryuzin21diagramp22.jpg&res=medium
And for me too, those do not look like Kamiya stile diagrams. (And yet an other thing, I don't see text descriptions on every steep, Kamiya uses to do that)

It's legal to post 3.5 already. I have seen official publications of it on the net
