Hello all !
I have done the CP of Mayfly by Brianchan . It's not hard to collapse the base but then I get stucked! I don;t know which flap to become which part of the mayfly.

Could anyone done with this model give me a hint of what is what in this model? I think the bottom 2 big triangles in the CP is 2 long tails of the insect but eventually it became flaps !

Old topic, but does anyone have tips on collapsing the base? I have the CP and am fairly new to folding CPs.

Re: Brian Chan's mayfly need help
If you are new to crease patterns, I suggest you go do some simpler box pleats to work your way up to this. Chan himself says this is "a hardcore exercise in box-pleating". If you learn some simple box pleats, this will be no problem.

Thanks for the reply. It certainly is hardcore, but the design is so beautiful that I can't stay away!
I've done a decent amount of box pleating (Lang's longhorn beetle, Sirgo's Flying walking stick...), but I certainly need more practice before I'm able to do this one. I'll keep playing around with this CP, and maybe post a picture or 2 when I feel like I'm closer to collapsing the base.
