Yeah, I feel sorry for you guys (and girls) going away and having to choose a few select books to take along. I emigrated 20 months ago and could only bring 2 suitcases. Got about a hundred origami books I had to leave in South Africa!!! Brought all my OrigamiHouse books though!!
Good luck to you all.
I'm still indecisive about that topic. Does anyone know why the topic Non-dinosaur came up? There are some superb models already, like Kamiya's (who else) Smilodon, Mammoth, almost everyone has had a good go at a Pteranodon and Archaeopteryx, etc. I was a bit surprised by the topic, to be honest. But I'll give it a try though!!
Have fun all!

Yeah, I expected sea slugs.

The way I assume is that some of the people who contributed to the 2007 Challenge came up with topics that they thought would make an interesting challenge. Then over the next couple months most of them voted. The choice that got the most votes was prehistoric non-dinosaur.

Other options were: Fish, Bug on Thing, Primate, Treehopper, Sea slug, People, Prehistoric non-dinosaur, Marsupial or monotreme, Hippo, and Cars.

Huh, I would have voted for non-dinosaur but marsupials and hippos would be fun. And bug on thing? 'Thing' could be anything? That could make some interesting entries, hah.

Great job, and I see room for easy improvements. Here are some suggestions: If you haven't already, incorporate the segmentation/plating into the CP. Also, make the model look less box-pleated. Rather than pulling out the layers from within some pleats, build the CP such that some of its sections are not totally box-pleated (Or just make a wider section in the middle). You should be able to pretty easily give it a cleaner back.

thanks everybody

I've think to do it, but it reduce the size of the abdomen and as it isn't box pleating

it isn't boxpleating, but I'll try this idea

if you want, I can draw the cp

Sorry for assuming it was box-pleated. You still can incorporate the plating, but yes, it is not quite as simple as with a box-pleat. You still can, however, sink the body in at an angle instead of parallel, to give a cleaner back appearance, I think.
