How you make the square mat (it is similar maybe?) that this star is throw on for the game?

I just used a blintzed pinwheel base. Viola! 8 point shuriken!

I remember folding the first 8-point shuriken (did I spell that right?)when I first started origami.

I did the same thing! I was impressed with the results too.
