Cerebrus Help

Hi everyone.

I've been trying to fold the Cerebrus by Robert Lang in the Origami Sourcebook but I can't seem to figure out step 11. Does anyone have any advice?

He he the name Cerebrus got me a little confused.

First of all make sure you've done the previous 10 steps correctly. There are some weird references in there abd it is easy to miss something.

Then fold up the long flap that has a pont on the bottom right corner. At the very center of the paper there are some creases that are similar to the ones on a bird base but kind of elongated. Reverse some of those crease to form a shape similar to a bird base and you will have performed step 11.

One more thing. About the part that you need to make symmetric, you need to invert a valley crease that extends almost to the center of the previously mentioned bird base.

To Quentin, the diagrams are copyrighted and they are not available online. It is a book by Jay Ansill with some good models, but terrible diagrams (not just my opinion, it has been mentioned several times on these boards).

Yea that would be Cerberus. lol Anyway, thanks for the help! I'll give it another try. I'm starting from scratch because the last attempt ended in a crumpled ball.

Step 18 has given me trouble everytime I've tried this model. I've found that is because of a mistake on step 15. What step 15 really means is open that semi-bird base you have there and reverse some creases so that the tip shown on step 15 gets behind the triangle that is at the center of the paper.

If you do that propely, you shouldn't have a problem on step 18.

Here's how to do it (sorry for the one handed video, but my wife who usually does the taping, was not available. Hope it is clear enough).
