For the Last Waltz, I'm having a little trouble stretching to form the arms (step 5). My arms come out like a triangle, not long like pictured in step 8. Also, the narrowing seems a bit off. My folded paper seems pretty narrow by step 8 already.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Need some help with Neal Elias' Last Waltz
Hello bja, the arm part should fold like this:

And I'm not quite sure about that narrowing part you mentioned, maybe a photo of what you folded would be helpful.

I don't want to be insulting to you, because I'm impressed that you've nearly finished... and I needed help to get started, as well as needing previous experience with the Elias stretches from other models. In any case, here goes:
Using the diagrams on p. 36 of BOS #10...
In Steps 18, 20, and 22 you rabbit ear the arms to thin them and to help position them. In all cases, I believe that you precrease the arms up and then down to make the two smaller bisectors near the body. Those are both Valley Folds. Then make the long precrease as a Mountain Fold, so that you will be able to bend the arms inward at the "elbow."
I apologize if I've simply re-stated the obvious. Try asking a different way, if that doesn't help. However, if that does help, please post pictures.
