My second attempt.
It's hard to hide the layer under the back leg, and the view here doesn't help much.

But i still like it

What a lovely litter of little piggies!

I folded this twice yesterday - once at lunch, once at home with my niece, in a speed bacon competition (fold the Pig as quickly as possible and then lay him on his back because, apparently, he had swine flu!)

To get around this, In step 38, rather than just swivel the paper, I added a squash inside the back leg and shuffled the paper back to keep the edges aligned.

@ArmyTim, good job. Your second attempt looks great! You can open the nostrills for the snout a bit to make it more 3D if you want!

@Topsu, thanx, yours looks very cute! also you can open the nostrills.

@Flaregloom, good work, I think you can pull the snout up a bit more and also open the nostrills.

I actually did that, but maybe it went back to flat when I was taking the photo.

Thanks for the diagram (and a very well made and clear diagram by the way) !
I find the design elegant. The one I folded is too ugly to show here, the paper was too thin and didn't hold volume very well. I will try it again as soon as I get my hand on some black elephant hide.

ArmyTim, that's a nice pig.
I folded mine already- sadly, out of printer paper. Suprisingly, the hardest step was the close-sink on the legs.

Thanks Legion. The hardest steps for me were 47-49. I know what you are talking about with the legs, I was hard for me to do some of the feet fold with my paper. However, I happened to get out to stapples and picked up a pad of tracing paper, so I will attempt the pig again after I try some other models. I really love your work, Quentin, I just wish you had more diagrams for us. *hint-hint*.

I have some trouble with the crimp at Step 56, so my pigs are blind, but a little more practice will perfect it.

Nice pigs, although I think the pink one looks more like a dog.

. For step 56, try unfolding the head a tiny bit.

Nice pigs! The best folded one is the one folded out of hongpao(?) paper,. though the patterns cloud the details. Also, step 56 is just pulling out a layer of paper inside.

New word (hongpao) - Chinese for high fiber paper (Washi in Japanese) or for patterned (Chiyogami) ?

I'll have to practice with a larger piece of one-color washi to get the crimp to work.

I like the impression that the longer ears on the pink model make it look like a dog, gives me some ideas.

I started my pig today. It is fairly hard as I am a beginner but if I get it finished, I will post a pic.
