Hey, new on this forum but with some knowledge on folding cp's. I was wondering were I can find some usefull references or recources to start folding ryu zin 3.5. Any suggestion is welcome. The ones in this thread are already noticed.

Look at the CP on the flickr that Galen mentioned - that is a foldable CP (obviously
). It does have a couple errors, I think, but they should be easy to straighten out.
One question: How many grids from the bottom (and from the top) do the scales stop?
My apologies if that question makes no sense. I know that the 2.1 is 8 units from the bottom, and 9 from the top, but the 3.5 is kinda confusing me in that area.

I think he was referring to Kamiya-san's reply to Andrew's inquiry about the v3.5 CP.insaneorigami wrote:What will be great, Artur?

I was precreasing the scales for my Ryu-Zin 3.5 when I saw that Kafar didn't precrease his scales before he started collapsing the base. So, I was wondering who precreased the scales before they began collapsing and who folded the scales after you began collapsing the base? Also, which way is neater and more clean?

Ah, thank's eric_son; Incidentally, I am Andrew
. I thought that he simply meant that he planned to upload the photo to his website.
By the way, if you have contacted Kamiya, it'll probably be a while before he replies - it took him a month to reply to my message regarding 3.5.
Starpartner: While it takes a very long time to do, pre-creasing the scales before folding is much cleaner and neater.

I've never precreased the scales, but if you don't mind the extra time, you should precrease them. It will look a lot neater.

I finally started making my sheet of 54/54 inch sheet of 96/96 grid paper!
I am taking 9 18-inch sheets of paper, dividing them into 32's, and attaching them together, to form a 96/96 grid. I have done 3 sheets, so I am a third of the way done! I'll probably do two more sheets per day, so that's 3 more days till I have the sheet!

If you are patient don't precrease the scales. I didn't. You will have to be a little bit more cautious when pleatin the scales and you will have saved a looooot of time.
When I was folding my Ryuzin I was tempted to precrease the scales too, but I found that if you are going to shape the scales it dosen't matter too much if you don't finish with perfect squares, the shapping will hide the inperfections. And as Robert Lang says in ODS in the chapter about Box pleating: he say that in nature does not exist a perfect simmetyi or perfect stright lines, so I think that if you have very identical scales you will end with something like folded by a robot and with an unatural appearance (even if the ryu zin is a unreal creature
)
The part I really think you should precrease is were the scales conects wiht the head, it's very hard to fold it whitout precreasing took me a lot of time to fold it.
