I've received the book today and there is an explanation about the neck twist, but, as phillip_3 said, there is not much about head, claws or tail. Anyway, I'm glad I'd bought the book, for at least there are the diagrams for Takashi's Violinist.

Which of the Satoshi Kamiya books is better to get?

It depends on you. If you like to fold nice, complex models then Works of Satoshi Kamiya suits you. If you like to get some ideas of how to shape a model while you fold it, Challenge to Super Complex Origami will be good for you (unless you don't read Japanese or haven't a translator). Oh, and there are also some nice crease patterns, too.

Hey, maik.fischer, BrooksHalten got those Ryu Zin pages translated. If you own a copy of the book, you can get them from him.

I hate to bust your bubble, but I am still getting a translator. I've been at it for a long while. So far, nobody has been willing to do the translations for what I can offer them. I wonder if a waiter/waitress would do it at a Japanese restaurant. If you have emailed me for a translation, please be patient! I am truly trying to get these for you all.

It may be a while, though. College is really eating up free time.

there is no way. none at all. not even a little. that kamiya's new book will "unlock the secret of ryu-zin 3.5" for you. the most it will do is provide you with an "official" version of the CP, and that's it. if you don't have a good understanding of how to collapse CP, there is no way, none at all, that the three pages of japanese text will tell you how to fold this model. to even think that demonstrates a startling lack of understanding of CP and folding. if text were enough to "walk" people through models, then designers have been wasting their time all these long years with diagrams.

there is a very high chance that any of that text is more or less already in this thread somewhere.

yes, the model is undeniably cool. if you want to fold it, you're going to have to do it the old-fashioned way. start with some simple CP and work your way up.

"World of Super Complex Origami" by Satoshi Kamiya has the full Ryuzin 3.5 CP in it. It DOES NOT have instructions though. Instructions for the model do not exist.

for that size of Ryu-Zin you should have at least a 12x12m paper, not very thin.
