New model, Giganotosaurus!!

I've wanted to fold one of these guys ever learned about "Giganto" around 2001. The structure of this model is bit bizarre and came about designing the head first. Originally this figure was going to use 22.5 degree symmetry, but that turned into a real pain, it's soooo much easier working on a grid! It's possible to modify the CP to give it a completely closed back, but in the end, I wanted the body shape to more closely resemble my "Spino".

O.o that's cool. It's nice to see such a complex model that doesn't have many folded edges on the surface.

I've only folded two of my own models in the last half year or so...

Triceratops

Just a refold of my 2004 triceratops. Folded from a 12.5" square of "accordion paper" I bought on a recent trip to Washington.

Samurai helmet beetle

And the CP

I designed this figure by giving my original atlas beetle (http://www.flickr.com/photos/origami-ar ... 9181287469) a bunch of modifications which included adding toes and moving the river separating the legs further back (more anatomically correct).
I added the wonky red lines on the cp to show some crucial folds which can't be done until the base is completed and the legs are reverse folded to the sides.

Maybe I should :D I do need more practice with diagramming software first though.
