How is it that you were able to skip 46-52? those steps form part of the devil... kinda important. I'm not sure if this is why you don't have eyes or a nose, but it would seem pretty likely beucase 46-52 "create" some layers.

the person that wrote it said that those steps formed the second pair of horns and we had an option of doing them or not. i will do the model again with the horns and see if that makes a difference

Hmmm.... ok.

I folded the model last night and it turned out fine. you must have made a mistake somewhere else.
I would post a pic, but our camera is being used elsewhere.
Hope you figure it out.

this is my first finalized attempt. if it wasn't for the tail it'd surely fall backwards.
i pulled the shoulder horns out quite a bit. at least they appear to be much longer than popular picturs i've seen of this model. and instead of curling the tongue under the lip i drew it aside dangling from the mouth

Actually, those "shoulder horns" are supposed to be ears...
Yes, I am that Joseph Wu. Not that it really matters. And please call me Joseph or Joe. "Mr. Wu" is my dad. :)

Don't roll your eyes so fast, grasshopper. That's what it says on the original Japanese crease patterns by Maekawa.

No, rockboy, not "sholder blades". Ears.
Look at how Maekawa does them in this photo:

They're scooped, like ears. And, folded the way he designed it, they come out just behind the head. Of course, like I said, it says very clearly in the crease pattern for the devil in Viva! Origami that those two points are ears. Of course, if you can't read Japanese, that won't help you.

Ok. First, I am not a grashopper, I am a little chubby asian baby..... :)
I guess Joseph wins becuase he can (I assume) read Japanese and has read what Maekawa first intended. But, that aside, ears do not come out of the neck, which is where those ears come from. It does not really look like the back of the head even if that was what it is supposed to be. Also, even if they were supposed to be ears....it is pretty cool to have those big hulking horns. Please, forget anything I said, and we will just leave it as "a personal, you do what you want with your model" type of thing. Like always, I admit defeat.

Devil - Hugo Pereira - 30cm taco wrapper
Image
Inspiried by this thread

Regardless of the ears by Maekawa, this is the version by Hugo.
I interpret them as horns.
And, in step 121 he specifically say "horns"

yours looks like he is smoking  anyway i think it looks good but do you think you could take a side picture too because nobody here ever shows the tail beacause they always take front pictures and the tail is usually straight behind the body

Thank you. Did you click the photo? There are side shots. But if you want a clearer one I'll take one today. I Love this model but this is my least favorite version, Maekawa's being my 2nd fav, and Kamatsu's my #1 favorite interpretation of this Devil.
