I THINK that will be ok. As long as it's smooth and fairly shiny. Might wanna try a test piece in the corner first??

When I start applying it, it wrinkles before I've got it all covered so where I started it's fairly smooth and get wrinkly towards the other side! I've had Mum and Dad hold it whilst I've been doing it and it's still not that great. I am doing it on an old A0 size folder on my table so although I'm doing it on a hard, flat surface the plastic can still move and bend underneath as I'm doing it so I don't know if that is causing problems or whether my paste isn't the right consistency or what......
Hi,
You don't need your parents for applying glue to some paper... :) Just make sure you use a flat and smooth surface to work on. I prefer using a mirror, because of its weight it wont move and it is easy to clean with a razor after the glue got dry.
I use a paint-roller to apply the glue on the paper, worth a try, it works fine for me.

Just take your MC-glue (I like it when it is about as thick as yoghurt)
put your paper(s) on the mirror, and use the roller to apply some glue to the middle/center of the paper.
When you do that you will see that the paper gets wet and it wont move while you continue rolling the glue on the paper.
Make sure you start in the center of the paper and from there you work your way to the corners.
And dont push the roller too hard on the paper because this will change de dimensions of the paper.

It doesnt really matter if you use MC or CMC-glue. UNLESS you like the taste of paper, if so, you should use CMC glue. Than you can always eat your origami when youre finished. :P
As far as i know that is the important difference between mc and cmc. CMC-glue is edible, and used a lot in weddingcakes and stuff like that.

I hope this helps you a little, PM me if you want to ask me something.

Grtz Tommie.

Aha cheers for that bro :P they were the only two people around!

Yeah I think that's the problem, because I'm doing it on an old folder because I don't have anything big enough which is solid that it wont stick to. So the folder kinda moves a little when I'm applying it. Also I think the brush I was using before was too small so I was taking too long to apply the glue and it was just warping before I had time to get it all covered.

You can try to tape it onto the table, but i prefer a mirror.

@TheUnChosenOne: Use a mirror. A picture frame. anything that is glass i guess

for some reason, the two pieces of tissue paper do not stick to each other. In the end, it does stay together, but there are a lot of gaps that have like airpockets between them. Even after I flatten them out, it still kind of forms by itself.

I wish I had a big mirror like that to use!

Interesting that they use that arched motion, didn't know about that.

You could smash down the wall. Or you could consider buying a new one.
Or maybe look for a glass table.... It's up to you. :|

Hi, I need some help because every time I try to make double tissue it ends up all wrinkled. I've tried with MC on the plastic to start and and without. I tried putting one sheet on at a time and putting two on at once and applying MC through both. I should mention that the wrinkles aren't massive, they look like veins, almost like the fibres in unryu. Also I'm rubbish at cutting it into a square afterwards. Any methods anyone has that they think'll help would be appreciated. Thanks

p.s I have read through this whole thread but can't seem to get it right.
