Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
I've testfolded the diamondshaped transition units and scales, now i need to figure out the Ryu zin 2.1 head. Until then I'm slowly starting precreasing the whole cp on a 97 x 97 cm piece of paper. Precreasing the grid is so boring :/
Edit : The stupid paper wasn't strong enough...
I think i'm gonna have to wait making the model until I've testfolded the head and made a proper sheet.

Kraft Paper?
What type of tape do you use to put the pieces of Kraft paper together to make the paper big enough?

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
hello,
i'm new to the forum and also a huge fan of SK, and I plan on getting his second book during the summer, so I will have enough time to fold the ryu zin 3.5. In the meantime i was thinking about folding the 2.1 to get a little practice. Any tips/tricks to make folding the model easier? I thank you in advance.

cyitoh, just use some strong and sticky tape, and it should work. You could use a flexible glue too. NightBurstLycan, Im assuming that you are already a very strong folder right? Because any Ryu-zin is no beginners task. Use a strong and very large paper, probably larger than you would think.
Folding is everything, and everything is folding

Thank you, and I know the Ryu-zin is not easy at all because I've been following this thread before I registered.
I'm still a little intimidated by the CP, then again I always love a challenge
Also, I was wondering is there an English copy of SK's second book?

Nope, no english version yet. And I don't think there will be one.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Well that kinda sucks
then I guess I'll just try to decipher the 3.5 cp on my own merits(just another challenge).
It'll have to wait until after I complete the 2.1 as well.

But if you do buy the book, I believe a member on this forum called BrooksHalten has translations for the few pages about the ryu zin. Try and ask him whether he still has them.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
It's a little too late for that, considering I already started trying to figure out how to fold scales on the legs...
I should have thought of that first, though...

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Hi all, it's been a while. I kinda took a hiatus from folding to pursue guitar for a year, but now I'm getting back into origami and such. I'm planning on undertaking Ryu-Zin 3.5 this summer. Should be interesting.
Just thought I would share this CP of the Head-Neck connection for 3.5, just if you're interested. It's got mountain folds, valley folds, all that good stuff that helps people fold stuff. The nice thing is that that particular section of the CP is in the public domain, so, enjoy!
