What's a Good Paper for Samurai Beetle from Genuine Origami?
Greetings -- I am trying to make the Samurai Beetle from Jun Maekawa's Genuine Origami. My first attempt was with a 30cm piece of Kraft, but about two thirds through it started to become quite thick and also mushy and then got worse from there. Before I attempt again, I am wondering what kinds of paper other people have used successfully. Has anyone done this with a larger piece of Tant and gotten good results? I know Tant gets thick, but I used it successfully for the devil in the same book, so am thinking it might be worth a try. But before I risk wasting a piece of paper, I am hoping others might be able to offer some insight. Thanks for your help! Jeff.

actually kami works very well in my experience. 12 inch sheet of brown or black kami is good.

I've used kraft+foil sandwich--shapes the model well and is durable.

A tiny place to post my things. Enjoy~

as a rule of thumb, maekawa models get thick. you can certainly do his stuff from kami, but expect splay.
