Brian's One sheet rose

Hi all,

I folded Brian's one sheet rose recently, however I encountered a problem.

I used 16x16 cm paper and the product is 11cm high with a 2cm high petal.
I found that when folding the last few steps, the stem becomes too "thick" since the stem is folded from 1/32 box-pleating and it's not easy to shape the petals. (Or, did it just because the paper I used was a little bit small for folding these models?)

I would like to know what technique is better to such folding? Indeed, should we wet fold or use tissue-foil on such models created from box-pleating?

I folded it at least 5 times, my choose of paper is a paper which i bought at the flower shop, i glue foil on it, and only on one half of the paper, on the other side on the foil, i glue the paper which i want to be the color of the petal. If i glued the paper on all over the paper the stem would be too thick, but like this the model turns out very well. I hope you understand it!

I used 40cm red-green tissue foil and I was happy with what I got, especially because it came out to a fairly realistic size. Folding back on creases wasn't too much of a problem, maybe because of the larger-sized paper, but you just have to work slowly. If you use a tool as you're folding backwards on creases, you can position them fairly easily.

So I would definitely try using a larger paper, but don't count out tissue-foil. About wet-folding, I have little exerience so I couldn't help you much there. I do know that it works better on simpler models with thicker paper, so I wouldnt think it's your best choice.

I also sticked only one-forth of the paper with the colour of the petal I wanted on the back, but without foil.

Maybe I have to use bigger paper and have a try again later.
