Straw stars :)
I was just looking around as usual on Google and found these diagrams on how to fold a star from a straw smilar to a chinese lucky star there so cool!

I used to make a lot of these when I was at school. You can use normal length drinking straws if you join 2 together - just squash the end of one into the other, and make sure the overlapping portion isn't more than about 1cm or it will make the middle of your star bulge due to the thickness.
After making a dozen or so your fingertips will hate you! But if you manage to find pretty-coloured straws, the end result is quite nice.

i've made some of these!
There really nice, the centre looks like a rose, it has a "swirl" in the middle but the whole thing is a star! really cool too. I can teach you if u wanted:)
