I read in the references of Origami Design Secrets that there are diagrams for Eric Joisel's pangolin, but I don't know where.

Thanks, I double checked and it didn't say "the folding sequence for".

Found it! but what kind of pleats are those? I am new to tessellations.

I checked Joisel's page and only found one photo not 3 at http://www.ericjoisel.com/balrog.html#4 is there something else?

I remember there was two other picures, one of the making of the scales and one of the half collapsed model.

Its just regular pleats, 90 & 45 degree angles
