Irregular grids i need help with

Post by phillipcurl »

Some models I want to start working on have really strange grids to use. I have asked Shuki, Axel, and even Mr Lang and tried all their options but I don't understand very well, especially with the odd grid. Usually what I do is measure out the grids then divide that by the paper and then continue from their, but that doesn't work for some reason with this. Mr Lang suggested using RF and i did but it never will get me the right grid. What I am doing for the grid is entering for x1 "1/number of grids" and y1 is "0".
If someone could explain with pictures or diagrams (text would also be great) then that would be awesome. Here is the grids I need help with.
Grid of 26
Grid of 44 (I had found an algorithm or diagams for this somewhere but i couldn't seem to find it anymore.)

Fast and easy:

http://origami.gr.jp/Archives/People/CA ... /02-e.html

http://origami.gr.jp/Archives/People/CA ... /06-e.html

Haga theorem, use 13 for 26 and 11 for 44.

The error (if there is error) is minimal.
Pobody's nerfect.

One last question:
If the length of the side is 1, AP=BP=1/2. Let AS=x, and SP=1-x. Apply the Pythagorean theorem at triangle ASP and we get (1-x)2=x2+1/4, then x=3/8. Triangle ASP and triangle BPT are similar, and AP=BP=1/2, AS=3/8, therefore BT=2/3.
This is saying that I should put 13 in x, right?
Please go into a little more detail than they did, i don't feel like finding my calculator.

You could fold a grid and cut of some parts.
For the 44 grid you can fold a 48 grid (3x16) and then cut of 4 48ths on 2 non opposing sides.
Not to purist, but it works.

but this decreases the size of the paper by 2 inches, the paper is already small as it is.

he also made a video on 11ths, so you can make 44ths.

I actually think i asked him to upload those... but I am not sure. I will use both of those for the models I am working on now.

Robert Lang's fiddler crab (for my first real try at CP) and some of Shuki's models. I also just need to know how to do a 11 grid because thats the only grid I couldn't do besides a 13 grid.
