Origami Crane Envelope
Hello! I'm looking to know the designer of this envelope and the book it is diagrammed in. Could anyone help?

I don't know about that specific crane envelope, but I think that there is something similar in Jeremy Shafer's book "Origami to Astonish and Amuse", called "Crane Envelope".

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

The crane envelope in Jeremy Shafer's book looks completely different: sneak preview 3
Here is a link to a page that also features a somehow different crane envelope: http://www.ghh.com/elf/
You may find the instructions for this particular model via the Origamidatabase.

Crane Envelope
This is definitely a different model, but it is a crane envelope, and personally I like it more. Here's the diagram:

Not sure who designed it, but this is the site I found it on: http://www.ghh.com/
Good luck all!

Re: Origami Crane Envelope
I believe that Minako Ishibashi is a woman. When I first started origami, I received one of the crane envelopes as a challenge to reproduce (without diagrams) from Michael LaFosse. It was fun to take it apart and come up with my own way to fold it. I developed my Christmas Tree Card model from it's basic structure. I also made six of the crane envelopes and put them together as a cube.

Re: Origami Crane Envelope
The link to the photo on Flickr explains that the Post-It notes sticky parts were used to hold it together. No additional glue was used. It is a very sturdy model and still around today somewhere in the basement of accumulated models. I folded it well over five years ago.
