Re: Introductions
Thanks
when I get the time to get the cp I could maybe help you but I probaly would't be of that much help because I haven't test folded it yet. I can't believe the book costs that much because I thought I saw it for about $40 somwhere.I also really like your models on flickr. I'm maybe not as experianced as you because I don't think I could fold that dinosaur (sorry I'm too lazy to spell it out) but the rest don;t look too hard.I'll try to get my own flickr later today because I don't already have one.

Re: Introductions
You saw it for 40 euros. 40 euros = about $70.
And thanks. I think the only one that I have on there that are actually hard are...well..pretty much all of them except for the star I designed, and the spider conch.
The dinosaur isn't finished, by the way
I'm just being extremely lazy in the shaping, that is the base of it.

Re: Introductions
ugggghhhhh I have been looking at euros the whole time
I think seventy dollars is still too much though. Thanks anyway.
P.S. Why aren't you finishing the dinosaur? Whenever I start a model I work on it all the time.

Re: Introductions
its very monotonous and hard. and $70 isn't that much, its really a great book.
The main reason I am not finishing it yet is because that you have to do about 40 tiny reverse folds out from inside the model. You have to use tweezers. i have done maybe 3 of them..

Re: Introductions
no, but i want it. i am planning on buying it soon, but first I need to get some other books (origami insects II, world of super complex origami, and some more) first.
Re: Introductions
You can download the book, if you don;t pay anything for the download, it is probably illegal though. I have it as a PDF. The "Swan on water" is VERY easy. I'm either going to do the A.D. (Ancient dragon), the blue whale or the Mammoth Prigneus next. You have to choose your paper well. Does Force Fold have anything to do with Star wars? (Great Star wars origami (very easy) Here! :http://origami.happymagpie.com/?PHPSESS ... e5856865fb).

Re: Introductions
It is illegal unless you own the book. I have a PDF of the book and a hard copy. I just have the pdf for two reasons: one so I don't have to lug a book around and two because my book is 300 miles away right now, at my grandparents house.
Re: Introductions
Hi! My name is Andrew, and I'm from California, USA. I've been folding since I was 6, and as of the last few years have been using the internet to find models, books, etc. I got in touch with YouTuber Sara Adams in order to find out what to do, where to go in order to get in touch with the origami community, and this was one of the steps she told me to take, so....for the first time in 15 years, I'm here to talk to other folks about the ancient art of paperfolding!

Re: Introductions
Hi! I am Matt, and I just started folding for serious about two years ago. I have had folding books since I was very young but never really got into it until I saw what awesome things that could be made with just a flat sheet of paper. I love the infinite possibilities and creativity that people put into the paper to make it turn into something exquisite. I have been lurking/creeping on the forum for a while now, and am now just beginning to add my input into the forum. So Hello again to all, you guys are great and can make some pretty awesome things!
Matt
If it's just mountain and valley folds, how hard could it be?

Re: Introductions
yeah, a big welcome with no signature sarcasm from me!
Folding since you were 6? I have only been going for a year. I do make like 7 models a day, among a busy life, so I can't complain that I have bee missing out since whenever.

Re: Introductions
Hello all
The name's Josh. I've only been folding for a few days now, but i'm really digging it. I've been using printer paper because it is all that is available to me at the moment, but it seems to be ok for what i'm folding.
So far, I have folded a crane(20cm), a much smaller crane(5cm), and a five sided star(5x5cm). I really don't like the idea of folding pureland pieces, because of what i've seen, they look really really simple, and I have to square my own paper hehe.
I don't have a good progression going on, I just find something that I like and that I think I can do(not jumping to dragons early on like some people.)
Anyway, that was my intro. Hope to get to know alot of you, and have good discussions about papercrafting

Re: Introductions
welcome Norfi
if you can fold CP's you should try my star. If not i'll send you the diagrams for it (exclusive!), of course, that is, if you want to. And thats smart not to jump to the ancient dragon as your first model, by the way.

Re: Introductions
Thanks Phillip
I cannot fold CPs... it boggles my mind to think that people can. I would love to fold your star though, if you would like to send it to me
I might even find me a camera and post it when i'm done. Not sure if anyone wants to look at my newbie folds, but I've thought about making a thread in the gallery. I folded a whale with water coming out its blowhole since I made my first post, and i'm getting ready to fold a dragon.(both from Oriland)
Anywho... Cheers,
Josh(Norfi)
