Post by firstfold »

I just discovered Robert Lang's iphone app. Are there other iphone apps for origami at this level that the members of this forum can recommend ???

Although that App contains Robert Lang's work, I'm not certain it's something that he has commissioned to be done...that is, it was created by someone else who may or may not have permission to sell Lang's diagrams.

Yyyyeeeaaahhhh, I was looking through his website, and I do not see anything about any apps, so I'm pretty sure that Frumius was right - this was not something by Robert Lang. I could be wrong, but I'll contact him to make sure.

Robert Lang's origami iPhone app was written by Tim Martin and with Robert's approval.

Yes - I contacted Dr. Lang about this, and he said that he authorized an iPhone app, though since I wasn't exactly sure if there was more than one out there, he could not clarify exactly if we were talking about the same one.

Lang has 2 iPhone apps. The first one needs no approval from him and the second one was done with him.

1. ReferenceFinder for iPhone/iPT which is absolutely FREE! It was ported by Jérôme Laheurte. You can download it from the iTunes App Store here:

2. Robert Lang's Origami Lite By Tim Martin http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/robert-l ... 08866?mt=8

I've developed several Origami Apps for iPhone, iPad and Android

Free App:
Origami Multibox

Paid Apps:
Money Origami
Origaim Flowers
Origami Birds
Christmas Origami
Origami Boxes

Most of the models are traditional, except Money Origami which includes four of my own designs. I continuously add instructions to the apps and there will be more of my own designs in the future.

The apps have clear diagrams and high quality photos.

You can request a Promocode for the iPhone/iPad Apps and I would be happy to get some Feedback from you for the App:

Andreas, Did you do the diagramming? It looks very good from the screenshoots.

If only Montroll's models weren't all terribly outdated ;)

Most of the apps are geared to the largest audience, much like abauseind's, and are from beginner to intermediate level. However Montroll has done a few recently with geometrics.
Fun Origami Stars
3D Colorful Origami
3D Origami Diamonds (went on sale today)

next up will be the Platonic Solids

Thank you Brian. Yes I diagrammed the models myself. I'm using Inkscape for diagramming.
