Box pleated human

Hello everyone..
I am from (Sultanate of Oman) "not many know about it".
i have been folding for the past 2 years many hard models but cant yet call myself a pro. I have a long way ahead of me!

i got quite interested in human figures lately and started folding a lot of them. unfortunately paper resources here are not that good. most of my models are folded from copy papers so most of them i get stuck at the bases and cant be shaped properly!!

i have been trying to design my own human figure as mr.sipho advised.. he told me that his human figure "away/hinweg" was box pleated 16x16 and the arms legs from corners.. arms are 6 units while legs are 8 units and for the head its 2 units. there are neither cps nor diagrams for this model.

i am working on it really hard but am stuck at the head .......any help would be highly appreciated

Nice fold! I think that wet folding the figure, making him more slim would get you an even better result. Other than that, well done.

hello...
i was browing origami galaries and set eyes on the model i was intending to make (mabona's human figure "away event"), but found that it is totally different to the one i designed, the model i am now thinking to make will be having a neck, rounded head and better shoulders.... any helping tips that would help my design be similar to Mobona's human's figure ???

What I would do:

Flatten everything out except the right arm (the one pointed upward)
Bend all the edges as one about 1/2-2/3 away from the center
Swivel the base of the arm and wrap the hind edges around to the front
Round the resulting edges at the shoulder
Round and shape the rest

Perfect suggestion ... Ill try that
i went to search for more information about the human models that Mabona makes and found out that most of them are boxpleated and to the surprise they all share the same chest and most of them have the same head.. and found an interesting view for the head:

his human models have a unique shoulder, which i dont think they are swiveled, but i really cant figure out the folds in (shoulders, head, chest).
for my model your tips will make it look better, Thanks

From that view, it looks like he may have actually Elias-stretched the arms upward and then bent the extra layer (the one created by the stretch) downward and into the arm.
And the face looks like a bunch of small points that are just stretched and flattened (Josiel-style).

Your reply made me feel really small in the origami world! , ill have to make a research on "stretches" in origami... I really havent heard of such techniques.I may make another post when i fully learn about stretches.

Robert Lang has some stuff on his site about Elias-stretches, I think. They were developed by Neal Elias, one of the earliest pioneers of box-pleating.

Basically you spread a set of pleats and perpendicularly pleat the excess paper inward; it's way harder to describe the interior one that your model has, but I'll try anyway.

Make two parallel pleats that are offset by one pleat width. A small region of paper should pop up between them that is perpendicular to the existing edges. Pinch the paper between those points and flatten.
