I'll join you on that! Still slowly working on the 2.1 head at the moment. Once I've finished a few test folds I'll move on to the whole model. Depending on how well I can fold it with the papers at hand, I'll be working on 3.5 afterwards.

[Haven't been active here for a while, so this might be a trivial question:] Given the fact that Super Complex Origami is in Japanese (and I'm pretty rusty on reading in that language), how useful is it really for folding the 3.5?

1st, is the only official released CP of the ryujin and 2nd full m/v creases defined. Even there are 3 page of full text and images the most helpful part is the CP that is fully correct. About the text there is not much help, you can read something about the paper and suggested size, how to make the grid, the folding order, a brief description of the "Kamiya's pattern",some basis for the folding and shaping of the scales, the arrangement of the points of the head and something very tricky about the head twist.

About folding sequence and shaping you won't find a single word.
Pobody's nerfect.

I know.. but this one was just a testfold, so soon I'm making a new one with a proper head, and shaped scales.

There is only one thing i just couldn't understand how to fold.
the part of the head attached to the body.
i realized that the head is attached somehow upside-down, and after you complete the body and the head you need to bend the head, but no matter how i tried i couldn't find a proper way to do it...
if anyone can show a picture,video i will be glad-full :D

well, there is no other way than folding through ALL the layers. in 3.5 there is a method with short diagram in Kamiya's book, this method locks the head. however in 2.1 its just one fold through all layers, so the head will be in other direcion than the body - you can see on the photos that it is always looking up or down.

I have got to make 2.1 after iron man.
What size and type of paper?
I'll test fold bits like the head first- what type and size paper for them? What is the grid?
How much is all this paper going to cost? It can't be too much- i'm saving up for fastskin!

it is possible to do 2.1 from 70cm square. paper shouldn't be too thin, it has to be strong.
the head grid is 20x20 on the original 80x80 (it is just head, without all transitions to rest of the body).

the cheapest paper big enough to fold rz2.1 i ever found was some parchment paper, 100cm x 70cm for 1 zł (it's about 0.20-0.25€). you can make it also from cheap wrapping kraft
