Hand grenade

Post by airborne »

Hey!

I need a little bit of help.
I'm new here, so i'm not familiar with all Origami words and rules i suppose you have. Sorry for that (and my english).

I'm a student from slovenia, and i have just started to participate on rebirth of an old student magazine. The magazin has died a couple of years ago becouse of many diferent reasons. Now we are trying to start the whole thing again. The mag was allways know as avant garde and powerful becouse of it's independence. Well thats a lil bit of mag background.

I'm working on a article that is makeing fun of current events, a satire. In the past year some dumb and idiotic stuff happend with Hand grenades (someone broke in a military base and stole captured drugs and weapons, a pisst guy throw hand grenad in a local night club becouse of a girl, and stuff like that).

The idea is to make a page with instructions for: make your hand bomb (of course phony paper one), on one page. The other page will be a fun columne about all that.

So, i'm searching for how to make a origami hand grenade. I think the best solution would be paper cut out version (like: http://rav4world.com/index/foldupbig.jpg ) becouse of the simplicity for making.
I've found some paper genades on the net, but they are too complex for one page without glue and without the how to ( http://www.kith-kin.co.uk/shop/pineapple-grenade/ ).

I will be very happy of any kind of help and ideas!

Thank you,
K

The traditional origami waterbomb, actually filled with water, can hold water for a few minutes and makes a nice "bomb" when thrown on someone in the middle of the summer.

it may not be the best, but considering that you only want one page and no glue, try this:
http://www.papercraftmuseum.com/grenade ... e-picture/
i know it is technically papercraft and requires glue, but its not going to get much better than this other than the waterbomb.

@Super Member--the waterbomb is fun all year round. especially in winter.[/url]

I would request him to let me know the name of the magazine. I am also from Slovenia and I have a hunch that that I will be familiar with it. Anyway I will always be ready to provide any help that he wants with regard to the magazine. Regarding origami bombs I would request him to search in “origami-instructions.com”.

I remember seeing a pure origami hand-grenade somewhere on the net, but cannot remember where...

well, if you know to to configure an origami pineapple, i think it would look similar to a grenade, if you had a rectangle, not a square.

Well, I looked up to see if you could make a paper grenade and I think I found something!

Its in a book though so you might have to buy something. Its available on amazon but the books called "Mills Bomb: Paper Gun Model Kit".

I think I might want to make one, too. :D

Maybe you could still use a waterbomb but modify it to have a pin and all.

i actually made both a hand grenade and flash grenade out out 1 sheet of paper (well, except the removable pin  ). I'm actually hoping to post pictures soon, but maybe not today. Hoping i'll get to clean up the finished product soon  (Oh, and before i forget, its actually a modification of David Petty's pine cone, but the pin n' stuff i added my self)
