Compsognathus by Dr J.A. Wagnar

Post by btingley »

I have no experience with doing origami except for the standard bird that I have making for friends and family for years. Recently I attempted to do a dinosaur for my grandson and found a Compsognathus by Dr J.A. Wagnar at http://www.fishgoth.com/origami/diagram ... nathus.pdf. I struggled a little over the first 11 steps but am stumped at step #12 which says "petal fold to one side". I know what a petal fold is but do not understand what needs to be done to get it to look like the diagram in step #13. I think I should have started out with something a little simpler but this one only had 2 stars so I thought, "What the heck!" If anyone can help me with this one I would really appreciate it!

crease a right triangle with valley folds, and from the tip of that, crease straight down. collapse it, and fold it to the right.
hope it helps.

That step is named wrongly, it is no petal fold but a rabbit ear. To make it, do the shown valley folds, pinch the tip together and fold it up to the right.

Who on earth is Dr JA Wagner? He's a palaeontologist. I'm the paperfolding medic. Here are some forthcoming photos from the revised version of my website...

I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.
