uhh. I just managed to collapse the base. it is VERY time consuming model, and I haven't started shaping scales yet! I won't finish it before christmas :(

so friendly tip: if you don't have much time (like 3-4 hours a week for RZ only), don't even start. You'll never finish it ;p

I'm in the middle of folding a ryujin 2.1 from 38cm paper, I think it will be the worlds smallest ryujin, a quarter of the size of my first one. I'll post progress pics on my flickr.

Great Scott, that'll be a challenge. Good luck.

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

I was wondering why dont you guys do the 3.5 version, instead of the 2.1?

cheers,

I could probably make five 2.1s in the amount of time it takes to make one 3.5. All my 2.1s and 64s are made from different paper until I find the one I want to use for the 3.5. I'm working on getting better at using MC (which none of my Ryujins have used, so far.) I've never done a neck twist (but I just got World of Super Complex so I'll give it a try soon.)
Basically I don't want to start a 50-hour model until I'm completely confident that it won't be a disaster. Also I drew out step-by-step sketches for 2.1 and 64 (which I can't share) and I'm always touching them up each time I make one.

from my point of view (base collapsed, started shaping scales, have knowledge how to fold whole model) 3.5 is much harder - bigger sheet (scales) is harder to fold, legs become a huge problem, whole shaping gets more complicated. 2.1 can give a nice result if shaped properly and isn't so hard to do (and so time consuming).

Is there any way you can send that video to me?
I'm currently trying to make a Ryu Zin 3.5, though I'm sure I'd help if I saw you fold the 2.1 version.
Thanks so much!

Whose video are you asking for? If it's my live broadcast you mean, I didn't save the videos. But I may next time.
