Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
I've tried and tried, but I can't figure out how in the world to get a clean head/neck twist for 2.1. I just smushed the paper into place, but it ended up mopre like a 1/4 turn than a 1/2 turn. How do you guys do it?

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Hi. a few months ago I made a first attempt at the ryujin 3.5 using 40gsm tracing paper at 70x70cm size. it was very messy and required a little bit of cheating to hold it together (i sewed the spine shut). but i plan on making a much bigger and better version soon. sorry for bad photo quality

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
No offense buddy but thats like the messiest ryujin 3.5 ever... But I respect for your patience! I know that paper is small but check this one
Its folded from the same size..

SO anyway good luck with next one!

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Next time it will be bigger. I will make it in two separate sheets of paper, with the longest edge being 1 metre long

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
1m? I'm using a 180cm sheet and wishing I had started larger. Mostly because of the scales though, so if you're not trying to shape them you might get away with 1m- if you are very skilled!

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
XD I have asked that so many times. The answer is local kraft papers. I dont know where you live, but if it's in europe, you can easily find papers. I use kraft paper from Michael's Arts and Crafts ( a chain store)Timoris wrote:DJ - What Paper did you use? Is there a link to it?

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
I used White "Natron" paper for my first ryujin 2.1. Regular kraft paper for my 2.0.Timoris wrote:DJ - What Paper did you use? Is there a link to it?
And Rice paper for my 2nd ryujin 2.1.
YOu can by this rice paper as mulberry or unryu...
OH not by the way thats not my ryujin. That ryujin is folded from Wax paper
Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Here's my Ryujin 3.5 folding process- but first, I'll say this isn't necessarily the best way, or even the way I'll go for if I ever do this again! But it worked this time.
-Imporant precreases (in my case, basically the entire CP, because what kind of hurry am I in?)
Collapse:
1. Upper transitions
2. Lower transitions
3. Upper scales (unshaped)
4. Lower scales (unshaped)
5. Front leg scales
6. Front leg toes
7. Back leg scales
8. Back leg toes
9. Close up body pleats
10. Shape scales (body, legs)
11. Dorsal spines
12. Head base
13. Glue & wire
14. Leg shaping
15. Head shaping
