Nguyen Hung Cuong eagle. Seth friedman's cooper hawk, eagle; Robert lang's birds?
I would rather fail trying than fail without trying....

If you want claws
There is no better than this.

For a whole model, Nguyen eagle is the one of the best.

Re: awesome open fingered birds
that is seth friedman's red tailed hawk. his flickr went curiously silent 4 years ago. i wonder if he's "retired," but he seems to remain active with OUSA.
notably, as far as i can tell, there is no secret with regards to the claws on any complex avian design. they are simple flaps with lots of shaping.

Re: awesome open fingered birds
Since I'm looking for a good bird of prey myself, I might aswell join this topic. The red tailed hawk only has a crease pattern. although I hope it is diagrammed somewhere. The coopers hawk by friedman is diagrammed in one of the tanteidan books if I remember correctly.
If your focus is on the talons of the bird you could look at roman diaz's crane of r. Langs. I believe both have been diagrammed.
I would like to see some other hawk, harrier falcon models with diagrams. I would like to fold one as a present for my mom. Please let me know if know some models.
