I made photo diagrams how I make it :D http://www.flickr.com/photos/origslater ... 371833716/
I just realized I forgot to put how to do the spikes on the middle pleat.
after you fold the base and it is color side up the pleat will be inside the model instead of out. carefully unfold just enough so that you can make it into a mountain fold. the mountain fold will travel all the way down untill it touches where the scale pleats are. then sink both parts of the pleat just like you would if they were the dorsal spines of the ryujin. the first one is easy but the second one is a little tricky because of the scale pleats. just sink it like normal but hold the scale pleats in place as you do it. the valley folds of the sink will travel through a few pleats. hope this helps!

Stay away from bond paper. At the beginning seems nice but it will wear out very fast and then will start to rip everywhere.
Pobody's nerfect.

I wouldn't mess with 50lb kraft for a ryujin.

20lb or less? Not sure, I don't buy paper I haven't felt.

gaaahh I want to make another 3.5 real bad. Is Half CP acceptable these days? My first one was full square, so I already earned that badge.

Froy along other people (like me) has made one of his Ryujin's with that method as far as I know. In my opinion it's not "cheating" as long as the finished piece is from a square. If you're required to use glue and wire to finish this model then why not make it a bit easier :)
