The more and more I look at Ryu Zin, the easier it looks. It just seems massively time consuming.

Gorgeous fold you got there, Kafar. One of the cleanest I have seen so far. I also like the look of the paper and the photography is excellent.

Thats the problem I have with this model as well... I wanna give this model another shot so badly, I have the paper and everything. I just know it's gonna take so much time :/

By the way, great folding, Kafar :D how did you come up with a cp for 3.1?

It's the cleanest one and only one you have seen besides Kamiyas. No one so far made it it with right grid and right proportions.

Reverse engineering. :D I know it seems weird but If you possess knowledge that Kafar has about Ryujins and origami in general, you can easily re design it from some better pictures.

The tail of a 2.1 Deluxe, inspired by the 3.5.
The folding method is similar but not exactly like the 3.5 tail. It's got a weird pleat manipulation but you can't see the weird part when it's closed up.

Ryujin 64 Deluxe

Made from a 64 grid instead of the 2.1's 80 grid. Shaped scales, dorsal spines, spiked tail. Fun to make, except for the neck twist of course.

Kafar: the legs are shaped the way I shaped the legs, because I folded it. You are free to shape the legs however you want.

I don't have problems modifying a Ryujin 64 because it was never officially published, just a developmental stage on the way to the 2.1.
I haven't modified any of my 80x80 2.1's- each came out different, but I at least respected each crease line on the official CP. And twisted the neck once I had a way to do it.
I'm thinking of making another 3.5, but with a few minor structural changes. Nothing that affects the outward appearance, but for example using my own transition process from shoulder scale pleats back into the grid-based M/V, and rotating the upper legs 180 degrees (and simply twisting them the other way.)
What do you guys think?

I know Ryujins are not the "hot" model anymore, but if anyone else out there wants to make their own 3.5, send me a PM and I might be able to work you through it. It'll take a lot of test folds, so you have to be patient. And you have to have photographic proof of high-level folding, access to MC, that sort of thing. No noobs plz.

Hi,
look trough the whole thread about ryuzin - you will learn sth about that model - you need to be patient, and try to discover this model, part by part - try to collapse parts of the head first, if you have problems with whole head :D
