Near Tyson's Corner as well as in Richmond there's Plaza Art Supply, which has handmade sheets about 2'x3' that you can assemble into a large one. They also carry 48" rolls of kraft the same color on both sides, in a variety of colors. My local Plaza has a 60" white roll! But I'm not sure of the thickness.

Yes, some people have made Ryujin 3.5 from two rectangles and assembled them when both halves were complete. I don't think that's a problem. Some people do. Yes, glue and wires are used to keep it together. Kamiya's book recommends that for all sorts of models for display.

A Ryujin 2.1 can be made from a single square without too much trouble though.

I live in North Carolina. So Virginia isnt too much of a stretch. I know I can find some though so a trip isnt neccesary. I will check in maybe Charolette jor Greensboro or Fayetteville. I would not want to fold them seperatey and then combine them, it will be much harder and less neat. I will find some paper and do test folds before I start. Ivsaw earlier someone made a ryujin and painted it pearl white. What kind of paint was used? I really liked the color of that one.

So, I have heard 3'x3' square is a good size, should I instead use two 1.5 'x 3' rectangle?

3'x3' is good for a 2.1 (with good paper,) I'd go 6'x6' for a 3.5.

I would like to, but there is no way I could find that large of a sheet of paper. I am going to have to order some 3' (one meter) paper and fold the halves separately. If anyone has done this before, can you tell me how to attach them together? When I fold it, do I account for and leave a little bit unfolded for the overlap? This is a pretty time consuming model, and I just want to make sure everything is perfect before I fold it. Thanks in advance!

Alright, it's time for another go at this model I think. 2 years ago I "completed" this model, and it looks like garbage. But this time will be different, I can feel it

I'm gonna be testfolding the different parts of this model once again, starting with the tail. Even though this is probably the easiest part of this model, I always find a way to screw up and make it look bad. But this time I think I got it down pretty good.


If anyone experienced with the 3.5 has any insight on perhaps shaping of the legs and the necktwist, I would definitely appreciate it
