Only took me a whole year! XD not perfect but I am very pleased.
Fun fact: I had to constantly keep cleaning up my floor and the paper because all that surface area gathered lots of dust. The only one of my projects so far that required this kind of treatment.

Very nice fold! I hope my next Ryu Zin won't take as long as yours :P

Good work! I wonder how many Finnish 3.5s there are.

Shuki Kato made a couple of galleries with a bunch of Ryu Zin's by different people. http://www.flickr.com/photos/origami-ar ... galleries/
There's probably more than those, though.
EDIT: didn't see that you meant literally Finnish ryuzins LOL. My bad.

Really nice Ryujin topsu! One of the best folds of this model I have seen in a long time.

Anyway, since I think my first roll of kraft paper isn't quite right, I am going to Hobby Lobby and/or Michaels tomorrow and get some paper when I get the recovery wadding I need. I'm excited! Then, since I still have until the 6th when I go back to school, I should be able to get a good start on it.

Nice work. And I really, really suggest you to use something to strengthen the legs.

My first 3.5's legs are now a mile over his back because of weight and poor support. Being done differently on my second!

You probably know this already, but for other folks: The legs on most Ryu Zins I assume aren't actually supporting anything. I used strong wire, about 0,4cm thick, and shaped the body so that the legs just touch the ground and look like they're supporting.

IMO, not-so perfect ryu zin's are the ones, where most of the body is touching the ground, and the legs are just sticking out to the sides, whereas people like Froy, Karol and Artur made theirs so that the legs actually look like they're doing their job. No wires or anything outside of the model to raise the head, either (how do you guys pull that off anyway?)

The wire is inside the body.

I know that, but the weight of the head and upper body seems like is very hard to raise up. You need some very, very strong wire for that, right?

Kafar, your ruy zin is one of the best ones out there, really not part of the 'most' I was talking about. And Jony, you can fit very strong wire inside it, it's not like it isn't thick inside there already!

My ryujin has the tail touching the ground, but the legs are supporting its weight. I put wire inside the pleats underneath the shoulsers and had the wire go out into one of his claws to have it hold him up better. One of the claws are raised like on Kamiyas version. The pose turned out decent and looks "natural" even though though the legs have a bit too much thickness.

Edit by Moderator: Yes it does work, you missed copying the first symbol of the code, that's why it didn't work.
