I dont know if you have decided, but its good to know which sequence you are going to collapse it. Especially if you want to make/shape the shoulder scales before or after the collapse of the shoulders and legs. Also make sure you are not using the faulty CP that is around on internet. Otherwise you should know it will probably take months, especially since this is your first one.

Nope, I got the correct cp now! I have not decided the sequence yet, but I think the best way to go is to shape the shoulder scales before the collapse.mikaorigami wrote:I dont know if you have decided, but its good to know which sequence you are going to collapse it. Re:
Yeah, I am doing the half cp method. I still have to clean the paper up a small bit but that's it!Jonybb wrote:are you doing the half-cp method? Because it's definitely easier to fold the grid that way; I'm currently folding a 2x2 m square, and it takes quite a bit of patience to do it this way. Other than that, just be as precise as possible!
EDIT***
My dad's square is in the shed and he cant get it out, so I had to be super careful and use a 30inch piece of foam board to clean up the square. It gets the job done I guess. I am taking progress pictures, and I am thinking I will post pictures at the end of every week to stay updated.
I also, from cleaning the square up, had to cut an extra quarter inch off of one of the halves, which causes a lot of extra work for me now because I have to account for that on every side of both sheets. :/

I'm going to try the ultimate model after my trip to my aunt's house!
btw, I have two tracing paper rolls with the breadth of 50 cm. Shall I tape those two together to create a 1 meter and try the 2.1?

You should do that... One meter is good site for 2.1.sr123ification wrote:I'm going to try the ultimate model after my trip to my aunt's house!

Okay, thanks, Djorde. I'll finish my test fold and start the real thing.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
We had a meeting yesterday after school and I found out that the convention is February 3rd. That is way sooner than I expected, so I am going to have to modify this and fold the completed one later. I will make it seem as if its coming out of water or something. This way, I can still give the illusion of length with only half the work and time. What do you guys think? Its for recyclable art. Maybe blue tissue paper under some bottle tabs would be cool for water.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Not necessarily. What version are you looking to fold? You can even fold 3.5 before that time if you know what your sequence is gonna be. Due to the lack of big enough paper, I haven't been able to try 2.1 yet, but it's much easier than the 3.5, and it takes half the time. If you folded the 3.5 instead, your biggest time restraint would probably be the scales. If you end up folding the 3.5 though, it still looks great with unshaped scales

I would rather fail trying than fail without trying....

Honestly, at this point there's not much point in trying to fold this model if you know you have limited time and you'll only be able to fold half of it. Why not find an easier eastern dragon, I'm sure they'll be impressed anyways, and you'll save a bunch of time. Afterwards you can try and fold this model, without being in a rush

How does a 3.5 take half the time of a 2.1??

Whoops! I totally meant to say 3.5. I just corrected that. I probably look like a rambling madman right now. Sorry :/
