JMcK's rude orc

Post by Alexandre »

hello,
I am a big fan of the rude orc of JMcK

cf

for a bigger picture.

Anybody know how to fold it ?
I seen for example on http://snkhan.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=414#414 that saj has been teached how to make it.

Anybody could make a video of the making of it, or a draft of diagram ? :)

(If not I will survive)

I taught the orc to Saj at... the autumn 2003 BOS convention, I think. (I haven't diagrammed it.) I'll probably be at the spring 2006 convention in Leicester, so I could teach it to you there if you're going.

Hey John!

I still photo diagrams ... with your permission I wouldn't mind uploading them. See you at the BOS spring convention!

Hi there,

Should have posted earlier, but the photo-diagrams are located within my gallery, at:

http://snkhan.co.uk/origami/gallery/Rude+Orc/

The photo instructions are incomplete as we were all busy folding and eating (the photo's were taken during the Nottingham convention a couple of years ago).

I'm sure John can help us with some steps. John did incidentally teach me, Alex, Anna (Origami_8), Gerwin (DayDreamer), Nicolas Terry and a couple of others during the Leicester convention.

Any help?

Here is my first attempt from a taco wrapper

I was surprised how well those few photos made sense.
I am going to try again with red tissue foil tonight.
This model is really cool, the process is very simple and the finished model is great.
Thank you for making this available

Thedeadsmellbad: Could you please make more complete photo diagrams? I don't know if I could make it with the photos provided (I haven't tried), but I think it would be much easier.

Thanks.

Aznman,
I would be happy to, but I think I should wait until I have permission to post any instructions.
There are not many photos provided but they were chosen well, showing how to get the key creases you need.

Here is a 2nd and 3rd attempt using 2 squares of the same 10cm cigar foil paper.

John has this fiddly-step of forming the ears which makes the model truely 3D. It is a little hard to describe, but maybe if someone has a photo of the rear of the orc they can help decipher the step.
