Hojyo Takashi's Buddha

Post by Carol »

Hi everyone

I´m trying to fold Hojyo Takashi's Buddha, but I´m stuck at step 27. I can't do anything similar to what is shown at step 28. Since I don´t understand japanese, could someone help me?

Thanks

I've just passed this step :)
I have a question concerning arms: the body itself is to thin, and hads are rather fat, so they are not in harmony... I've dpne it of tissue foil. Is there any solution of this problem?

I've recently finished this model, and
I think the solution to ur problem is to
give it another try.
I folded the budha with a 50cm x 50cm copy paper
and it turn out quite proportional with the exception
of one rip.
If it still turns out a bit unproportional, maybe ur
messing it one of the steps.

In steps 35 and 36 - where you fold the base of the flap that becomes the big background - what exactly is happening? It looks very simple, but I'm never sure about the way that flap turns out.

If someone could post a photo of the finished model veiwed from the back, that should be all I need; the only pictures I can find are of the front of the model.

In step 28 you just lift up the 4 flaps to stand up perpendicular from the model some how like this: (take a look at step 33 to understand better what I mean)

Code: Select all

    *
    *     <---- 4 flaps
    *
    *
    *
********* <---- base
The next steps show only the base of the model.
So long and keep folding ^_^

I got stuck on 28 as well but thanks to daydreamer's advice I made it through. Thanks! This was my first attempt and I did it on a fairly small sheet of copy paper (~28cm) so I wasn't able to achieve the detail I wanted but I'm glad to know this model isn't as hard as it seems!

Is step 64 symetrical to the other side?

I "understand" the fold but the flap size is so small that I think it's going to be messy...
I started with a sheet of 18" though thinking it will be big enough (Can't really go over this with the paper I'm using)
