I can't wait to try this. Tomorrow I will look for some nice foiled back wrapping paper to try this with. Any Help with the hands would be much appreciated.

My, you're impatient... Just wait a while, maybe even try contacting HOJYO Takashi (unless you already have)

I have sent Hojyo Takashi an email. We shall see if I ever get a reply. the email was as follows:

Greetings Takashi-san,

I am an American and a fan of your work. I am speaking on behalf of the origami community at snkhan.co.uk. Recently there has been great interest in one of your masterpieces, the shibaraku. It is understood that this is an overly complex model and will not likely be diagrammed. However, I would like to inquire if you could perhaps provide those of us who are not up to the challenge with some kind of guide. The hands are overly complex and difficult and many of the images do not provide an adequate view to fold these. If you would be so kind, please help the origami community who share the love and enthusiasm of origami with you.

Many thanks, Matthew Mongeau

His site is translated into english, and I remember reading something at the bottom of his introduction that said:
If you have any comments, please send it to me with e-mail within 10kbytes in Japanese or English, with your real name and address

if Hojyo made a book with all his awesome human figures, i would jump on it immediately. I have folded most of his work. Violinist, aquarius, icarus, and gabriel. But this shibaraku is difficult to figure out.

To be honest, kingdomwinds, I think you should take a break from this model. Maybe go fold something else, there are so many more diagrams in the tanteidan magazines!

yeah i'll probably leave this model alone till someone figures it out. The rest of the shibaraku looks possible. Its just that hands that puzzle me.

I wish some one made a video about the shibaraku on how to fold the details such as the head and the hands. I know that there is an extensive thread to crack kamiya's satoshi. Why is this model not getting any love?

I think it is a model that deserves attention. I can collapse the base but i have no idea how the final touches are made.
