Worst Origami Fold?

Just nicking this topic idea as it was discussed in the O-List recently. Just vote in the poll on the fold/maneuver you dind most annoying - for me it is closed sinks and closed unsinks (Try folding Robert Lang's Sea Urchin from Origami Sea Life).

i have voted "repeat on other side"..

because i dont like closed sink folds either.. and if a get it, i dont want to repeat it on the other side.. hehe

Repeating is the worst of course, but sinks (especially multiple) are my favourites.

there are many tricks to divide the paper to 3, 5, 7, etc..
the size of the paper is not important because you dont have to messure something..

for example - take a horizontaly lined paper - not take your washi paper (or something else) and put the 1. corner on a line wich is not important wich one.. and the 2nd corner to the 3rd line for 3 parts, to the 7th for 7 parts.. etc.. this is a very easy way and dont need pre-foldings wich may destroy the look of the finished model

I particularly do not like odd ratios,such as in Komatsu's Hippo.Its a little to much into geometry.

For me, one of the worst is grid-pattern precreases at odd angles.

Any complex fold that is diagrammed poorly so that I can't understand it.

For me it's the joyless pre-creasing that is often a part of more complex models. "Fold the paper into 96ths and then add these weird counter-intuitive angle bisectors." - that kind of thing.

The end results are frequently amazing but I find that this type of design removes a lot of the pleasure of folding and reduces it to an arduous slog.

When it comes to origami -- I really don't mine folding the grids or pleating--but I CAN'T stand it when the step requires you to do some guess work of where to fold to. I don't mind doing a little extra work if the work will provide me the guidance I need to proceed to other steps. I don't like it when I have to guess where the pre fold lines should be. Like the beginning steps of Satoshi's Bahamut (#1,3,4,5)

I don't like open sinks!
Like most of the insect of R.Lang have.
I don't like to fold big models, I usually use 15*15cm size. And it is hard to make good open sink. I have to make precrease with the model opened to make it nice... really boring

I never thought, that it depends on the paper size whether you get a good sink or not. I always thought, it depends on the paper quality. of course a smaller paper makes it harder, but a smaller paper can make a torture out of every folding process, even exact valley-folds.
