Help with Komatsu's Fox CP

Post by USWeasil »

Okay, um first off I just joined, altough I'm not really that new to the site because I have been going through it for about 2 years now for Origami ideas. Alright, now for the main point ... I need help on Komatsu's Fox CP.

I have folded so many pieces of paper to the point they start tearing at the edges. Can someone out there help me pin point the main folds, or at least tell me were the limbs are, all I can ever get to look right is the tail. The head is what is kicking me in the arse along with the hind legs and i cant even tell how to do the front arms. Please help. Thanks.

Would it help to know that the distance from the top left corner to the second vertical crease is 1/4 the edge of the square?

Also an important crease is reached by folding the bottom right corner to the point in the top left where the three squares intersect (1/8, 1/8 ).

That should give you all you need. (All angles are 22.5/45/90)

Good luck!

If you understand CP-folding, those hints should be enough. Using just that (and obvious thing like using a something with a straightedge to see that points are lined up) I was able to fold it.

Here's what the CP gives:

And here's the fox.

this model has got to be one of my absolute favourites. the flowing line of the fox and the character is just wonderful.

once, i made one, and my cleaner threw it away :(

I'm sure you'll figure it out soon... Try some boxpleating models, I've always had trouble with the non-boxpleating models...
