Does anyone know how to get the correctly sized piece of paper from a US Legal sized piece of paper (copy paper in the USA)?

what is the ratio of the rectangle required to fold it?

The exact size isn't that important for this model since you can always fold the end in a way to compensate for the length. You should only make sure that it is about 1:5.75 in size i.e. 5 Squares and about 3/4th of a 6th Square.

You can always make a much longer caterpillar as well :wink:
