Gargoyle or winged toad photo diagrams

hello,
i wanted to design an origami gargoyle model that had an opening mouth and wings, unfortunately it looks a bit like a toad with wings but oh well.


1.
Image
divide paper into 16 equal squares.

2.

make diagonal creases.


3.

fold a water bomb base typed fold along the top creases made in 2.


4.

fold 1 layer to the right.

fold up bringing the side in

6.

fold layer to left.

7.
Image
repeat steps 4-6 on other side.

squash fold.

squash fold triangular flap.

fold down flap, you will need to do a half petal-fold.

fold layer to left.

repeat 8-11 on other side.

turn over.

fold up and squeeze sides in folding excess rectangular flap to the right.

squash-fold rectangular flap.

fold layer to the right.

fold layer to left.

repeat steps 16-18 on other side.

repeat steps 8-12 on this side.

fold to layers down.

turn over.

begin to swivel flap up. be careful not to rip paper over next steps.

open up flap.

continue to swivel.

flatten model when flap reaches this point.

repeat steps 23-26 on other side.

turn over.

inside reverse fold. repeat on other side.

reverse fold next flap behind the one you just reverse folded.
do the same on other side.

mountain fold tips of these flaps to thin them.

fold model in half leaving wings and wing cases and head out flat.

thin front legs and bend them so there diagonally pointing forward so your model can stand.

inside reverse fold back leg do the same on other hind leg.

open mouth.

bend in the tips of front legs for claws.

shape in eyes

i also wondered if perhaps Mr. Chris could go to the trouble of making it so people could see my pictures without having to click on links.
sorry that i can't do it, I'm a bit technological impaired :D

if you make the model please take a pic so i can see how it turned out.

Very nice diagramm, i just make origami since a month and i tryed your gargoyle =>

your gargoyle is fine! you just made the head a bit big thats all.

Don't give in and call it something else just because other people tell you it looks like something. It is your work and your vision-what you say goes. And overlook the irony that I am another person telling you not to listen to other people :P
