The time it takes also depends on what your perspective of a perfect crane is. We could probably fold them in fourty five seconds if our expectations were really low. Since my project on a personal level, I didn't compromise quality for anything.

This post raises a couple of issues, aside from the issues of quality that someone else mentioned. I'm not sure that 100ths of a second are really useful in measuring this, and with times this short, if serious comparison is going to be done, not only will the standards for quality have to be established, but a protocol for timing would also be necessary.quesoonfire wrote:I have practiced forever and have gotten 14.68 seconds to fold one.
For example, when I'm just informally timing myself, I usually just look at a clock with a second hand/display and either wait for 00 or 30 to start or just note the time I started and stopped. That's reasonable and easy, but not very exact. Another method would be to have to manually start and stop a timer, such as a stopwatch, before and after folding the model. As long as everyone had access to similar timing equipment, that would be more precise, but it introduces some additional human error in the starting and stopping actions. A better alternative would be to have a third party do the timing, but that gets increasingly complicated.

I agree with you Malachi. During this attempt a friend timed me with a stop watch.
The crane I folded in about 14.7 seconds was not very high quality. It was purely a test to see how fast I could fold a crane with all the necessary steps. It takes me around a minute, at fastest, to fold a crane that I consider decent.
