Post by Henriq »

Hello I am new on this forum, tough i started to read it one month before.
I couldnt find some answers so i registered to ask them :)

I need help on the basilisk diagram on the book Origamania (Albertino Lionel), in steps 8-14 :? especially on step 8. i have to tuck inside (which seems impossible) or just moutain fold???

In step 8 of the basilisc (page 65 of Origamania book), Lionel seems to have the symbol for "unfold" (if I get this correctly), yet there is nothing to unfold at that step... unless you completely rearrange the model.
When I decide to ignore the symbology and simply mountain fold the two flaps behind the front layer (white square), I find myself even more confused by step 9, where the symbol for "fold behind" appears and this color change (from the white square of step 9 to the coloured flap of step 10) is impossible for me to even imagine.

Ignoring both steps, I was able to perform 11-14 easily, but when I reach 16 and open up, I cannot get this form.

If you can help me I would really be in debt! This model has been haunting me for weeks...

Step 8 is a closed sink, just push the whole thing inside. In step nine you have to partially unfold the model to free the layer, not a big deal because it reforms it nearly by itself on the existing creases (paper has a good memory).

Ok, I finally got it! Millions of thanks, Anna! If I post a picture of the folded result (I am still not happy with the ending result) I will credit you for the help :)
