Who wants to test-fold some of my designs?

Post by merman »

I am relatively new to this forum and recently picked up origami. I did it a lot in my teen-years. Recently I found some of my old designs back, fully diagrammed by computer. I was wondering of there are people here who would like to test-fold some of my designs.

They include:
- some insects
- some birds
- a wildebeest

Just PM or e-mail me so we can work things out... I am very curious what you people think of my designs...

Wow, I am overwhelmed by the responses. I found these diagrams the other week and I thought they were lost. I only have them printed, some on very crappy lined paper. I will scan the diagrams this weekend. The diagrams I found so far are of:

- a leafhopper
- a weevil (I did in fact once sent to Robert Lang) - last page seems to be missing but no huge problem
- a complex snail
- a simple tree
- a chinese crane
- a chicken
- a toucan
- a polyp
- a simple duck
- a simple decorative snail
- a simple decorative house
- a crane (simple but quite elegant
- a rather nice boxpleated frog. Diagrams by pen and ruler, without any text
- a wildebeest

now, all I ask is to respect the copyright by not spreading these around. I would be rather thrilled however to see these designs discussed here or to see some photographs of the final results. I designed some of these more than ten years ago and would handle certain things different these days. Also, these designs were never folded by anyone else but me.

oh, I forgot to say: if you want these diagrams, please send me a PM with your e-mail address. Your account should be able to receive big files.

Really nice! :D
I love the rear legs and the pose! The fromt legs could use a little shaping though.

Finally.. I finished your bug..
It's not a great rendition, but I'm pretty satisfied with the result although I could've done better.
And it's my first complex bug from diagram.

here goes:

folded from Tissue foil 30x30 cm

EDIT : I lowered the wings.

well for your first insect it looks pretty impressive. Just make sure you drop the wings down just a little bit more over the abdomen. Congrats!
