hmm well i squashed it even more and made another to try again.. but it still looks a bit messed up..

is it actually possible to get it to look like these::

http://blog.saush.com/wp-content/upload ... e_full.png

and do you think the roses in these two photos are folded slightly differently from each other?

-edit-

after inspecting the pictures again i think i'm doing it correctly now..
the thing i was confused about was how there's extra paper on each petal created in the final step, when you do the reverse fold that locks the base..

maybe when i get better it'll be less visible!

thanks for the help!!

Hi, I know how you feel, i got the diagrams from origami.com and it took me a quite some time to "decode" the diagrams. Then i found out i was folding the wrong side!! It's nice to see that there are people like me!!! :D

i still have issues with the rose after months of folding over and over. I just can never seem to get the locking on the bottom aligned and that extra bit of paper always pops out the side  but oh well mine still look good once i curl the petals and fiddle a bit

You do not need to register anywhere to upload pictures. Just use http://www.imageshack.us/, it is free and self explanatory.

That is insane... it took me a few hours to fold the one rose, stem and leaf!

well,

in case anyone is interested, I did a video on my own folding sequence for the Kawasaki New Rose (or angled). This video shows how I get the secondary petals of step 9 without folding the 22.5 deg grid... Hope you enjoy it 8)

another video about my folding sequence for the New Rose, here how to get main creases in one of the quadrants. In the last one (already uploading) I'll show the collapsing of the rose, its closing and finishing.

hope you like them :)

by the way, I'm sorry for the background sound, I was caught watching Dragon Ball Z

finally I uploaded the third video, is just missing the spiral fold (which was too bad on the screen :P )

hope is helpful
